Sensor Induction TechnologyGenerates heat directly within cookware, reaching high temperatures quickly and cooling down rapidly for precise control that enables a full range of cooking techniques.
Auto Presets for Melt, Simmer, Keep Warm and BoilAutomatically set the right heat for different techniques and stages of cooking, taking the guesswork out of choosing settings.
Assisted Cooking Modes for Boil, Fry and GrillHelp you take on high-heat techniques with confidence. Sensor monitoring automatically sets the ideal heat, alerts you when to add ingredients and maintains constant temperature while food cooks. Requires the use of specialty KitchenAid® pans (sold separately).*Register your cooktop to receive accessory pots and pans at no additional cost. Visit https://www.kitchenaid.ca/en_ca/promotions/bonus-cookware-set for details. Pots and Pans also available for purchase on https://www.kitchenaid.ca/en_ca/kitchenware/cookware
Power Boost Functionsets the highest heat for rapid boiling, bringing three quarts of water to a boil on average nearly twice as fast as our gas cooktop.* After five minutes, the heat automatically adjusts to keep water at a rolling boil. *3000W induction element set to Power Boost compared to KitchenAid® 10,000 BTU gas burner.
Touch-Activated ControlsFor assisted cooking modes, auto presets and numerical power settings are simple to use. The seamless design is also easy to clean.
Pan Size DetectionRecognizes the size and placement of cookware to generate heat directly within the pan. An indicator light and sound will alert you if you turn the cooktop on without a pan on the selected element or if your pan is not compatible with induction cooking.
Control LockHelps prevent unintended use and makes it easier to clean the control panel.
Frameless DesignAllows flush installation for a seamless look or standard installation to fit an existing cooktop cutout.
Requires Induction-Compatible CookwareSuch as multi-ply stainless steel, enamelled steel or cast iron. Aluminum and copper cookware will not work unless it has a base made of iron or steel. Look for pans marked "Works with Induction" or test to see if a magnet will stick to the bottom.
